Fortnite update 12.21 begins From March 24, meaning server downtime. The good thing is we know what is being worked on and how long this week’s Fortnite downtime will last. The downside is that since the release of the latest update, Epic Games has stopped publishing patch notes, meaning we won’t know anything that has improved.

WHEN ARE FORTNITE SERVERS DOWN?

According to Epic Games, Fortnite servers will be going down on March 24, on all major platforms. This means that Battle Royale mode will not be accessible for however long Epic Games keeps servers offline.

The Fortnite dev team has stated on the official server status site that the March 24 downtime could last up to three hours. However, it’s more likely that everything will be back online much sooner for PS4, Xbox, Switch, Mobile and PC gamers. Timing-wise, Epic Games reported that the downtime and maintenance of the Fortnite server would begin at 6 am, GMT.

This would involve servers going down at 2 am ET for gamers in the United States which may involve more disruption than normal. An Epic Games message adds: “Oh, all of it! V12.21 is scheduled to take effect on Tuesday 24 March. The downtime starts at 2 AM ET (0600 UTC). “Following the introduction of the latest Choppa car, fans expect lots of new bugfixes when it comes to updates. This was introduced to last week’s game and allows Fortnite fans of up to four squadmates to arrive at the Choppa.

“Hop in and fly out. Catch up to four other squadmates and take on the enemy teams with this new car.” While not verified in the official patch notes, Epic also destroyed the oil rig in the first big map changes of this season.
